Cancellation of the 25th edition of El Gaitero Regatta

Following the introduction of the restrictions due to the COVID-19 health emergency, El Gaitero Group and the Royal Astur Yacht Club (RCAR) have been in contact in order to monitor the situation and its evolution. Both parties have now decided to announce that due to the restrictions imposed and the need to put health and safety first, it is not possible to hold a regatta on the same level as in previous editions.

In detriment to its essence, the regatta would therefore be limited both in sporting and social terms. Much to our regret, this has forced us to adopt the decision to cancel the 25th edition of El Gaitero regatta, scheduled for 4th – 9th August this year.

Both El Gaitero Group and the RCAR deeply regret having to break the continuity of a regatta we are immensely proud of and which is firmly consolidated as a leader in cruiser class competitions in northern Spain. We would particularly like to thank the interest and concern shown in recent weeks by boat owners, yachts men and women and the participating clubs.
