Viñedos Alfaro, owned by El Gaitero Group, appoints Antonio Salinas as sales director.

Only a month ago, at the beginning of December, it was announced that Valle, Ballina y Fernández, S.A. (El Gaitero Group) had acquired 100% of the Rioja Classified Designation of Origin winery Viñedos Alfaro, of which it had previously owned 50%.

At the same time, Ricardo Cabeza, the Group's general manager, revealed some of the immediate actions that he would carry out in order to strengthen Viñedos Alfaro's presence in the national and international markets. Among them was the incorporation of a sales manager (a position that did not exist until now) with extensive experience in Rioja wines, who will give the necessary impetus to the winery to position it among the best in the designation of origin.

And the name of the person who will occupy the post has just been announced. His name is Antonio Salinas.

Salinas has a degree in Law from the University of Oviedo, complementing his training in business management with various postgraduate courses at the Kellogg School of Business in Chicago, USA, and at the Instituto de Empresa, and also holds Level 3 of the WSET, the leading international wine school.

His entire professional career has been spent in the International Area of leading family companies in the agri-food sector, such as Pastas Gallo and Grupo Faustino.

For the last 8 years he has been Director for Europe for Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, developing the business for the different wineries of the group in key markets such as England, Germany, Russia or Scandinavian countries.
