Pomarina, Best Filtered Natural Cider of 2019

For the second year running, the 10th edition of the PDO Sidra de Asturias Trade Fair has declared Pomarina Best Filtered Natural Cider.

In addition to releasing the official data for the 2018 harvest, this event also announces the Best Ciders of the Year in each category, or, in other words, which ciders will hold the title of Institutional Ciders for the coming year.

The decision lies with a panel of expert judges who blind-taste the various ciders included in each category of the PDO Sidra de Asturias in each category. Following the tasting session, Pomarina (produced by El Gaitero Group) was declared Best Cider in the “Filtered Natural” category.

Filtered Natural Pomarina is more technically advanced than traditional ciders, and can therefore be enjoyed to the full without the need for the traditional Asturian pouring technique known as escanciado.

It pairs to perfection with mild meats, cold cuts, fish, shellfish, vegetables and cheese. However, it is also an ideal accompaniment for more cosmopolitan dishes such as ceviche, sushi or fish tartare.
